Basic Life Skills

Basic Life Skills

​Success begins with mastering the skills needed to navigate everyday life. Our Basic Life Skills program equips youth with practical knowledge and essential tools that promote independence, responsibility, and personal growth.
 

Participants learn:

  • Time management and organizational skills

  • Financial literacy, including budgeting and saving

  • Effective communication and conflict resolution

  • Teamwork, leadership, and relationship-building

  • Goal setting and decision-making strategies

By developing these foundational skills, participants gain the confidence and ability to thrive in school, the workplace, and their communities.

Job Readiness

Our Job Readiness program prepares youth to confidently enter today's workforce. Through hands-on training and professional development activities, participants gain the knowledge and skills employers value most.
 

Program topics include:

  • Resume and cover letter development

  • Interview preparation and practice

  • Professional communication skills

  • Workplace etiquette and professionalism

  • Career exploration and job search strategies

Participants leave equipped with the confidence, preparation, and practical skills necessary to pursue meaningful employment opportunities and long-term career success.

Vocational Training Referrals

ANBSN connects youth and young adults with trusted vocational training programs and career development opportunities that lead to sustainable employment and economic independence.

Through our referral network, participants can access training in areas such as:

  • Skilled trades

  • Technology and information technology

  • Manufacturing and construction

  • Creative and entrepreneurial industries
     

These opportunities provide valuable hands-on experience, industry-recognized credentials, and pathways to rewarding careers. Our goal is to help participants discover their strengths, explore career options, and build a stable future.

STEM Education

Our STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering, and Mathematics) program inspires curiosity, creativity, and innovation among youth ages 11–18. Through engaging activities, mentorship, and real-world learning experiences, participants develop the critical thinking and technical skills needed to succeed in a rapidly evolving world.
 

Participants will:

  • Explore science and technology concepts

  • Engage in hands-on projects and experiments

  • Develop problem-solving and critical thinking skills

  • Learn from mentors and industry professionals

  • Discover educational and career opportunities in STEM fields
     

By fostering a passion for learning and innovation, ANBSN helps prepare the next generation of leaders, creators, and problem-solvers.

Violence Prevention

Utilizing place-based violence prevention and intervention methods, we meet at-risk and justice-impacted community members where they are and equip them with tools focused on deescalation, conflict-resolution, and self-agency.

Some of these activities include:

  • Empowerment seminars

  • Culturally relevant experiential learning

  • Weapon safety training

  • Individual and group mentorship

By incorporating the lived realities and struggles of community members, we help them develop skills that promote unity, peace , and safety in their neighborhoods.
